DR. EDWIN I. ACHUGBUE

Edwin Iroroeavwo Achugbue, Ph.D., holds the title of a Certified Librarian according to Nigerian law. He has earned several academic degrees over the years, starting with a Diploma in Library Science in 1995, followed by a Bachelor of Science Education (B.Sc. Ed) in Library Science in 1997, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Library and Information Science in 2005, and finally, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Library Science from Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria, in 2015.

His professional journey began as a Librarian at Delta State University Library from 1999 to 2007, after which he transitioned to the Department of Library and Information Science at the same institution in 2007. He served as a Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science from 2007 to 2018. In May 2018, the Federal Government of Nigeria assigned him to a diplomatic role as a Technical Aid on Education to the Republic of Uganda, stationed at Kabale University in Kabale, Uganda, East Africa. Dr. Edwin I. Achugbue successfully completed this diplomatic assignment, earning commendation from Kabale University’s management.

His areas of research interest encompass topics such as ICT in librarianship, social media’s impact on library services, social networking, web utility, Infopreneurship, and the study of libraries in the context of the post-Covid-19 pandemic world. Dr. Edwin I. Achugbue has taken on various roles and responsibilities within the university, including serving as the Head of the Department of Library and Information Science. Presently, he holds the position of Librarian at the Federal Polytechnic Orogun in Delta State. Furthermore, he currently holds the rank of an Associate Professor in the field of Library and Information Science.
